Accommodation

Homestay accommodation

Students can experience more of British culture and stay with an English host.

  • We have a selection of hosts available from single / divorced / widowed people to couples and families with small or teenage children.

  • We select all our hosts carefully, visit them regularly and make sure they are following the guidelines set by the British Council for hosting students.

  • Some of our hosts are Christians, some are not.

  • We try to match the interests and backgrounds of students with those of the host.

  • Our Welfare Officer will try to find a suitable host for you and is always available to discuss any matter with you.

  • Students usually enjoy their time with their host family and often make lasting friendships with them.

Accommodation in the School

Unfortunately as from Jan 1 2006, we are no longer able to offer accommodation in our school building.

Renting a flat or house

Married students with children who come to study at Functional English rent flats or houses during their time here. There is an accommodation officer who makes the necessary arrangements and takes care of bill payments, repairs and any other problems. All rent and fuel bills are processed through the school and you pay one bill at the end of the course to the school, so you do not need to worry about making the various payments yourself. For these services the school charges a fee. We advise students to bring a "nanny" to look after their children and help with the housework. Children over 5 years of age who are staying for 6 months or longer sometimes attend local schools.

The school also can help you organise family activities for your children. Our enrolments secretary will be happy to send you more information about any of these matters.
