What can I do in Whitby?
There are some FREE social activities as part of our General English course.
These may include:-
- A mid-week trip e.g. the walled
city of York, Rowing on the River Esk at
Ruswarp, Beacon Farm Ice-cream, sea trip on the old Whitby Lifeboat, the Captain
Cook Museum.
- A sports event or competition
e.g. a darts match, volleyball, a table
tennis competition, aerobics, fitness centre visit.
- An entertainment evening:
e.g.
a barn dance, scottish dancing, themed video seasons, a quiz night, a welcome or farewell evening, an
International Song Contest, a karaoke evening, a fancy dress party, a Christmas
Presentation, a Host family evening, Fireworks evening.
- A special meal: e.g. a Beach
barbecue, Bonfire night barbecue, Burns Supper, Fish and Chips,
Pancake Day (incl pancake race), Strawberries & cream, Ice-cream walk,
Christmas dinner.
There will also be a programme of activities which you will need to PAY for:-
- A Saturday trip e.g. a walk, a city trip, a visit to a
heritage or a visitor attraction.
- A visit to a theatre, cinema or concert.
- Sports activities e.g. swimming pool, mini-golf, horse-riding,
cycle hire, rowing, gym.
